Zuzuni Boutique Hotel (Boracay): A Beachfront Hotel at Station 1 with a Latin American Restaurant

On our honeymoon trip to Boracay back in 2021 and on our first few days of our recent trip, my wife and I stayed in hotels inland. For a change, we decided that we’ll try a beachfront hotel on our recent trip.

It wasn’t easy finding one. On one hand, we don’t want to book a five star hotel because of budget (or the lack of it LOL). On the other hand, we don’t want to book in an accommodation so cheap that it’s shady. But thanks to my diligent wife, we found one that’s perfect for us—Zuzuni Boutique Hotel.

Zuzuni is a fourteen-room beachfront hotel in Station 1. Its location is so prime that it’s surrounded with restaurants, bars, convenience stores, and water activities. In fact, there’s a popular Latin American restaurant in its first floor (more on this later).

We were upgraded to Zuzuni’s topmost room, where we have a nice view of the beach or, technically, trees. LOL. But we’re not complaining.

I like that their rooms are minimalistic and cozy.

For added safety against COVID-19, there’s an air purifier in every room.

The only downside of staying at the topmost room is the stairs (unfortunately, there’s no elevator in Zuzuni). Good thing that their housekeeping crew were helpful to assist us with our luggage.

But we quickly forgot about the stairs when we see the beach and the sea, which is just a few steps away from Zuzuni:

Our stay included a complimentary breakfast at the Latin American restaurant downstairs, Muchos. It’s owned by Patrick and Shria Florencio, the couple behind Nonie’s at Station X (check my Station X article here) and Little Taj at D’Mall Boracay.

We got the Aklan Longganisa (local sausage). It looks and feels like an embotido (it’s like a Filipino meatloaf) but tastes like a longganisa. Fascinating!

Since we had one local, savory plate, then our other plate was a continental, sweet plate—Choco Pancake. It’s fluffy, crisp at the bottom, and has decadent chocolate.

Because we’re in Muchos, we had a Mexican breakfast dish—Huevos Rancheros (this is not complimentary). Referred to as the breakfast of champions, this dish is consists of eggs (huevos), beans, and tortillas.

Muchos’ version has creamy and runny eggs, tangy salsa, and legit corn tortilla. The cilantro adds freshness, and the rice is tangy and on the wet side. It’s good but I think there are better versions of the dish out there.

Zuzuni Boutique Hotel has cozy rooms, a nice view even if it’s obstructed with coconut trees (if you’re placed in a room with a window), and delicious breakfast. It’s also in a strategic location. My only issue is the stairs, which can be an issue for people with mobility problems. Still, we had a pleasant experience at Zuzuni. I highly recommend the hotel to you!
